My $150 dinghy.
I am still excited about having committed to the boat, but how do I get to it? It did not come with a dinghy. So I need to go and find a dingy. For research and information I checked online and at a local marine store. Nice dinghies, but at over $1000 they were already out of my price range. I was more thinking of a used one under $100. Wal-mart was already sold out of inflatables.
As with the big boat before, I just posted a one-liner on Craigslist and Kijiji. It didn’t take long and I got an offer for a 10-foot fiberglass dinghy. It was $150 and we stopped by the place on the way to pay for the boat. The dinghy did not have any oars. It was in good shape, a hole that was repaired, but not bad for that price. So I bought it.
Thinking of it now, I probably could have offered $100 or $125 instead of just paying the $150, but I totally forgot and did not even think about it. Well, I don’t like negotiating anyways. The dinghy barely fit into the back of the van. So far so good. I will pick up some paddles or ores at Walmart or some other marine store on the way.
Dinghy mission accomplished!
