Cowichan Bay
Going to the boat last time was a long day. It would be much easier if I didn’t have to drive two and a half hours one way. I have to get the boat moved closer to where I live. So I posted another ad on Craigslist and found several people willing to help.
Jon was the first one to reply and so I started talking to him. He’s got many years of experience with boats. He does fiberglass repair. Just by exchanging some emails with him, I have a good feeling about this. We would have to meet and look at the boat and take it out for a test drive before doing the move.
Professional towing is out of the question at this point. I only got one quote from a local business estimating $3000 to tow the boat. As professional rates go, I have no idea if that is a good or bad offer, but I simply can’t spend that much on towing my boat. I could have bought another boat for that money! So I’ll have to forget about towing for now. It’s out of my price range. I’ll have to find a way to move it much much cheaper.
Hopefully my boat’s engine will be in good condition to do the trip herself. But just in case I need towing, I might have to keep looking for another option. Then I still have to figure out how much diesel I would need for the trip.
