Free Fixer-Upper ?
How much will a sail boat cost? Lets see. I paid $250 for my jonboat and trailer, used of course. Add on about 3 zeros and I could get a really nice sail boat. Looking through a few sailing magazines I soon found out that the sky was really the limit. So, do I wanna spend $50,000 or $300,000 ?
I went on-line and checked my savings account to see how much I had in there. Wow! I got like 2 cents in interest for last month! I might be a millionaire by the time I turn 100. That is, if I don’t spend my dollar before then.
So how much do I want to spend on a sail boat? It doesn’t matter as I don’t have anything right now. My budget is zero. I will have to find a very cheap, cheap, cheap boat, and then figure out how to pay for it. Don’t try this at home. I think you’re supposed to have a budget first, then go spend it on something you want. But since when do I do things the way I am supposed to?
No budget? No problem? We’ll see. I posted a short ad on craigslist:
“Wanted. Cheap or free fixer-upper boat. The bigger, the better.”
And I soon began getting some interesting offers. Maybe this wont be so hard after all?
