The last boat offer

My ad on craigslist was about to expire when I got one more response. Just a question of how big a boat I was looking for. So I replied with over 30 feet and as cheap as possible, not expecting anything really. But a woman named Judi replied and said she had a 52-foot concrete boat. It had everything needed to live on it like fridge, stove, freezer, washer, dryer, heater, diesel engine. She and her husband bought it as a bare hull and put an interior into it, then lived on it for several years. It has vhf, radar, auto pilot, double ram hydraulic steering. It is a sail boat with full keel design, 8 foot draft, but does not have a mast. They accumulated some sails and rigging hardware that would come with the boat. $5000 or best offer.

We exchanged a few emails as I had a few more questions. I knew I didn’t have $5000 but that boat was definitely something I wanted to see. I didn’t feel comfortable taking up their time to go look at the boat, knowing I can’t buy it now. So that was it. The boat was docked at a live-aboard marina and I had a nice picture of a boat I couldn’t afford.

My ad had expired. I didn’t feel like re-posting it, mainly because I couldn’t afford anything I was offered. I did keep checking the for-sale ads on Craigslist, but never found anything else that would work for me. That put my project on hold for now.
