Less is more!

Less is more, minpins rule :)

Less is more, minpins rule :)

I come from years of automated advertising-infested auto blogs. Don’t hold that against me. This is my real non-automated blog! But I am a programmer and still think of ways to use my programming experience to make my computer and non-computer work load easier to manage. I wrote my own to-do list script and I am also using several of my own programs to keep up with certain stats I care about. That saves me a lot of time.

So back to the auto blogs I had. I could care less what content was posted. All I cared about was what ads you clicked once you got to my page. In fact, there were more ads than real content. You were supposed to not find or care about the content and click away through an ad.

Things are different on a personal blog. Yes, I still have ads, but my main objective with my personal blog is not selling or advertising. I want you to actually read what I have to say. These are posts I wrote myself and care about. I am more interested in you reading them and leaving a constructive comment. That makes me happy and encourages me to keep writing. I love writing by the way. And I want you to come back and read more.

This morning I got up and remembered the $0.95 I had made in AdSense a few days ago. That was cool on its own because it was from my real blog. But this morning I had another comment from a real person. That made me really happy! And I started thinking of what to post today. I ended up posting one of my poems. I had some issues with formatting the poem and noticed that I still had too many ads on my blog. So I removed the ad I had between the title and the blog post. After all, once you come to my blog, I want you to read my post and not click away after reading the head line.

I will still keep a few ads here and there and I will shamelessly advertise my own products :) like the poetry book. But I will only do so in appropriate places, not cluttered all over my site. So I think less ads will make you enjoy my site even more and come back for future posts. Have you subscribed to my posts yet? OK, I just had to try. Enjoy fewer ads and more content!
